How to protect yourself ahead of the BT’s UK PSTN network switch off and BT Redcare closing!

BT’s UK PSTN Switch Off

What is the BT Switch Off?

BT Openreach announced back in 2015 that come December 2025, they would have permanently switched off the UK’s old analogue telephone network systems.

Why is the BT Switch Off happening?

The current system consists of copper wiring used to connect phones, the current system is too old and difficult to maintain and is more than due an upgrade! The system is out of touch and cannot keep up with the demands of the new technologies we have in the 21st century. The switch is an opportunity for organisations to reduce costs, simplify their complacent systems, enhance sustainability, and enable more ease of work.

How will I be affected?

Businesses that don’t sort this out and adopt the new cloud phone system before the PSTN switch off will create numerous problems for themselves, more than just not being able to make a phone call.

Everything that is connected to phone lines; Phone Systems, Security Systems (CCTV, Alarms, Door Entry Systems), credit card machines, fax machines etc. that have not been updated to digital technology, will no longer work after the 2025 deadline.

On 1st February 2024, BT Redcare announced they would be closing the BT Redcare service line and putting a stop to any operations. Any fire alarm systems and security systems on BT Redcare service will need to be changed.

Why is BT Redcare Closing?

This sudden decision to discontinue any BT Redacre service lines has been driven by a new strategy which aims to reduce variotion in customer products and

How will I be affected?
